The authors of this blog come from every corner of Adaptivity’s ranks.  Some are members of the product team, chartered with ensuring the most valuable concepts discussed here are incorporated in our Blueprinting Product Suite.  Some are members of our service team who leverage our tools and our thinking to deliver Blueprinting as a Service.  Some are executives that oversee the company’s direction.  All are passionate IT professionals that have spent years in the industry.  While the blog is on the company site, you’ll definitely hear an individual feel from each of our bloggers.  Here are the people you’ll be hearing from.

Jonathan Cavell is a solution architect with Adaptivity.  In this role he helps his clients leverage Adaptivity’s tools and techniques to align their IT to their business.  He applies not only his technical expertise but his MBA to understanding the client’s business needs and their technology options.  Over Jonathan’s 10 plus years in IT he has shown a passion for applying the newest trends in information technology to practical, business problems.  He’s done this while working in industry, for IBM, and with several tech startups.

Jim Houghton is a co-Founder and the Chief Technology Officer of Adaptivity. In his CTO capacity Jim interacts with prospects, clients, and key technology providers to evolve capabilities and partnerships that enable Adaptivity to offer its comprehensive solutions for Cloud, Application Optimization, and Data Center Transformation. In addition, he engages with key clients to ensure successful leverage of Adaptivity’s Blueprint4IT portfolio.  In his prior role Jim was the SVP and Architecture & Strategy Executive for the infrastructure organization at Bank of America, where he drove legacy infrastructure transformation initiatives across 40+ data centers. Previous to that he was the Head of Utility Product Management, where he drove the design, services, and offerings for SOA and Utility Computing for Wachovia’s Corporate and Investment Bank. Jim has also led leading edge consulting practices at IBM Global Services and Deloitte Consulting.

Sheppard Narkier is the Chief Scientist and Co-Founder of Adaptivity where he is responsible for the development of Intellectual Property which is applied to Adaptivity’s Blueprint4IT Platform. He has 34 years experience in IT, working as an executive and individual contributor in roles such as Enterprise Architect, and Managing Director of Development, Head of Software Portfolio Management & IT Governance. He has worked for Standard & Poors, Dow Jones, SIAC, Wachovia CIB., Global Head of Technology at Sapient and Chief Technical Architect of UBS-Investment Bank. Sheppard’s early background includes Systems Engineer at Data General, and developer in a variety of Financial Services consulting firms.

Matt Barrington is the COO at Adaptivity.  Matt is an IT executive with 20 years of experience. He specializes in creating and operating business-driven, high-volume, cross-enterprise IT solutions, and has 15 years of direct experience in eCommerce.  He has developed products and custom application solutions for a variety of government agencies, military branches and private sector companies.

Peter O’Dell is the Chief Infrastructure Architect at Adaptivity.  He has held director level roles in architecture, engineering, information security, application services, and infrastructure with Constellation Brands, GE, Microwave Data Systems, and has additional background in engineering and project management from his days with EDS.  Peter has a B.S. in MIS from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

Alex Pecoraro is Executive Vice President of Product Management at Adaptivity, and leads a critical team whose role is to institutionalize our intellectual capital as productized services, knowledge platforms and SaaS offerings. He collaborates with the CIO, CTO and CEO to ensure that we exceed client expectations with our offerings, services and products. Most recently, as Vice President and Program Manager of Architecture and Innovation at Wachovia’s Corporate Investment Bank, he led a program to modernize the DMZ networking and security infrastructure through which Internet applications are hosted. This leveraged a compilation of virtualization technologies, security standards, and policy enhancements to reduce time to market and fault domains while improving protection, performance and uptime.  Alex holds BSEE, MSEE, and MBA degrees from Northeastern University, Purdue University, and Duke University respectively.
